LIPA allows rebates on leased solar systems (Note: LIPA is PSEG Long Island as of 1/1/2014)

On October 26, 2012, LIPA announced its policy change to allow use of the LIPA rebate money for 3rd party leased solar systems. The decision was made on the heels of Governor Cuomo’s NY-Sun Initiative. Proponents of the move by LIPA feel that this will allow for more rapid deployment of solar and allow families who could not afford solar under the prior programs to obtain benefit from the ratepayer funded programs. Read the complete article …
