After switching to solar power, your electricity bill will typically look different compared to what it looked like prior to your installation. Learn more about some of the changes you may notice on your upcoming electric bill.
Net Metering Credits
Many New York State residents taking advantage of solar power will notice net metering credits on their electricity bills. Solar users can earn credits for excess energy produced and sent back to the grid.
Carryover Credits
During billing cycles where more energy is generated than used, the excess credits may carry over into your next billing cycle.
Community Solar Savings
If you are subscribed to a community solar program, your electricity bill will also look different. You will generally find your savings listed on the last page of the bill under “transfer credit/charges.”
