Solar Loans Extended

In early April 2015, Mark Harrington reported in Newsday that last minute negotiations resulted in adding the state-backed loan program for residential solar panels to the state budget, thereby extending the program for one more year to March 31, 2016. The loans are for solar and energy efficiency projects for homeowners, small businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and multi-family building owners. With this program, it is possible to reduce an energy bill to near zero with a monthly payment to payoff a long-term loan of 5, 10, or 15 years. Read the complete press release …
